Birth and Early Years
One of the most well-known names in collegiate football is Jimbo Fisher. Fisher, who was born on October 9, 1965, is a native of West Virginia and came from a family in which athletics played a significant part in daily life. Soon after high school graduation, he enrolled at Salem College, where he played football for a year before transferring to Samford.
Beginning his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Samford, Jimbo Fisher has come a long way from his early days. Following his time at LSU, he worked as an assistant coach at Auburn and Cincinnati. With Bobby Bowden at the helm as head coach at Florida State, Jimbo Fisher got his big break in 2007.

In his first year with the Seminoles, they went 12–2 and won the ACC title. Jimbo Fisher has faced adversity as a result of Texas A&M’s participation in the difficult SEC West.
